Verified. Certified. Those Words Swirl about like Untreated Dust at a Construction Site.

They are, in fact, two of the most important words for decision-makers responsible for vendor selection, particularly in view of the stringent regulatory environment whose standards about clean air and water must be met. The fact is that all certifications are not equal, not any more than all first basemen, all pool filters, or all sneakers or all EPA tests are.

The onus of verifying the certification claims vendors make rests on the shoulders of those who are procuring product, and that can be tricky because environmental claims that sound the same may, in fact, not be the same at all. To look at the situation metaphorically, one company may be taking a basic math test, another advanced calculus!

Independent testing – the key to buyers’ confidence
There is self-testing and there is independent testing. Independent verification confirms claims by manufacturers like Midwest. For buyers that means confidence. Less environmental risk and less risk of costly fines. It means protection not only for our ecological resources but also for the people who use them.

Midwest is always happy to provide proof of independent certification, a practice we believe in. We also believe in pushing ourselves to the limit in formulating our products so, where possible, we exceed the demands of regulatory agencies – never at the risk of superior product performance. Midwest’s products, for example, have been tested using US EPA guidelines at a rate 2-20 times more stringent than its competitors.
