Anti-Icing/De-Icing Products

When winter weather strikes, Midwest Industrial has a wide range of anti-icing and de-icing products you need including conveyor belt solutions, frozen coal solutions, railway and mass transit solutions, as well as solutions for runways, sidewalks and steps.

With our anti-icing products, you can increase safety and lower costs by preventing the formation of bonded ice and snow. If icing has already occurred, our de-icing products promote ice melting and prevent additional ice buildup down to -70ºF.

Conveyor Belt Solutions

Ice Free Conveyor®

Midwest’s original de-icing product developed for coal handlers to eliminate conveyor problems caused by snow, moisture, freezing and sub-zero temperatures. It prevents belt icing and removes ice glaze on belts, idlers and pulleys when temperature fall between 20ºF and –70ºF.

IceFyghter D™

A de-icing liquid designed to eliminate coal and material handling problems caused by ice glazing and fines build-up. Works in temperatures as low as –40ºF.

Liquid Ice MLT™
A multi-component liquid belt de-icer that enhances ice melting and prevents ice build-up. It is effective to temperatures as low as –20ºF.

Enviro-MLT™
Environmentally safe and effective alternative to glycol-based and chloride based anti-icing and de-icing agents. It’s non-toxic, non-corrosive and will not damage conveyor equipment and belts. Effective to temperatures as low as –50ºF.

Cobra® Spray Systems

A complete line of spray systems specifically designed to apply anti-icing and de-icing products in the harsh environment of material handling.

Frozen Coal Solutions

Freeze-Free®

A complete family of freeze conditioning agents, custom formulated for use on coal and other materials prior to loading in rail cars to enable easy unloading in severe winter weather. Available in several formulations for all needs and price ranges.

Zero Gravity B-Free®

A highly effective side release agent designed to prevent coal and other materials from freezing to rail car interiors, truck beds, chutes, hoppers and other rail equipment.

Railroad & Mass Transit Solutions

Ice Free Switch®

An anti-icing agent that is applied to railroad switch points, plates and rail prior to snow or ice storms. It will remain in place to activate when needed to melt falling and blowing snow and prevent switches from freezing.

Zero Gravity Ice Barrier™ A specially formulated non-conductive, and non-corrosive anti-icing agent for catenary power systems.

Zero Gravity Third Rail® An Anti-Icer/De-Icer that prevents snow and ice build-up on electrified third rails.

Ice-Slicer® Spray Systems Provides custom delivery of Midwest anti-icing products on third rail problem areas. Ice-Slicer® spray systems apply Zero Gravity Third Rail® Anti-Icer to multi-surfaces of the third rail on a mass transit train to keep the surface free of ice.

Ice Free Scale™

A specially formulated heavy liquid that is applied to platform edges, ground edges, levers, and other components to prevent freezing.

Runways, Sidewalks, Steps, etc.

Enviro-MLT DD™

An anhydrous grade sodium acetate that provides a non-corrosive, environmentally friendly alternative to salts and calcium chloride.

Enviro-MLT™

An environmentally safe and effective alternative to glycol-based and chloride based anti-icing and de-icing agents. It’s non-toxic, non-corrosive and will not damage concrete or vegetation. Effective to temperatures as low as –50ºF.
