The Bunker Seal™
Air Blocking System
An air blocking system for plant coalbunkers, ensuring that no combustion will occur. When air is allowed to circulate through coal stocked in bunkers, spontaneous combustion can occur and be damaging to the value of the coal and especially dangerous to the power plant.
The Bunker Seal™ consists of a manual spray nozzle and air powered pump mounted on a handcart that applies Soil-Sement®, a dust and erosion control chemical, used to seal the bunker top and keep air from circulating.
Power plant coal handling personnel have used Soil-Sement® for over 28 years to prevent air and moisture penetration in their stored coal. Eliminating air and moisture is the only practical way to prevent oxidation — which causes spontaneous combustion. Spontaneous combustion in your coal bunker can cause serious destruction!
