Soil-Sement® controls dust and
erosion at “The Big Dig”

The Central Artery/Tunnel Project (CA/T) is the largest, most technologically challenging highway project ever attempted in American history.  This complex construction project has unique dust and erosion compliance challenges unlike any other major highway project.  The CA/T, more commonly known as “The Big Dig”, is designed to maintain traffic capacity and access to residents and businesses throughout construction.  Upon completion, the project will significantly decrease traffic congestion throughout downtown Boston, MA.

Midwest Industrial Supply, Inc. is providing Soil-Sement® to the CA/T project as part of it’s Dust Control Program. Soil-Sement®, approved for use on the CA/T project by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, has helped with both environmental and economic aspects of dust control on this mega-project.

Not only is Soil-Sement® effective in the variety of applications required by the project, it can be used in all seasons and is environmentally safe.  Less site erosion/runoff assists in controlling NPDES discharge and less runoff from mud-covered streets into drainage structures.

Midwest Industrial Supply, Inc. can provide turn-key installation based on the unique requirements of each specific project.  Our field technical service personnel are available for consultation and recommendations to determine the program best suited for each projects requirements.
