Coal sediment can deposit into drains, ditches or lakes and can seriously endanger plant and aquatic life. Erosion control is much more effective than sediment control. By stopping erosion before it becomes sediment, you can avoid costly clean-up and environmental effects from occurring. You may be required to comply with regulations as they relate to water and air quality, as well as the impact on aquatic and human health. The EPA and local regulatory agencies continue to develop stringent guidelines to protect the environment against health threats.
Moisture penetration in coal stockpiles can also be a definite concern. Air and moisture penetration rob coal of its' BTU value (Thermal Value). Coal should be as dry as possible so that maximum burn is being achieved. Sealing out the air in coal piles is also important because of the dangers of self-heating and combustion.

Soil-Sement®
A polymer emulsion blend. Soil-Sement® “cures” and dries clear. It is considered non-hazardous per OSHA and EPA definitions.
