Construction sites can tend to erode at much higher rates than other areas. Sediment, as a result of runoff or windblown particles deposited into drains, ditches or lakes can seriously endanger plant and aquatic life. Controlling erosion on construction sites is important, regardless of their size. Each phase of a construction project has the potential to create significant volumes of sediment runoff. Midwest believes that erosion control is much more effective than sediment control. By stopping erosion before it becomes sediment you can avoid costly clean-up and environmental effects from even occurring.

As stormwater permits and management plans are being incorporated into the framework of urbanized areas, it becomes imperative that water quality is addressed in the BMPs of the various construction phases. Without proper planning to protect the soil surface, erosion can have such a negative impact on the environment; an inability to control it exposes you to stiff fines and legal liabilities on top of the high cost.

Soil-Sement® is designed specifically for the control of erosion, sediment, silt and stormwater runoff. Soil-Sement® is environmentally safe and provides superior performance since it has been extensively tested in the field, in our state-of-the-art laboratory and by independent organizations.

Soil-Sement® has its own unique properties and was developed with specific needs and requirements in mind. Click on the Soil-Sement® link below to see more information, technical specifications, articles and bulletins, environmental data and success stories:

Soil-Sement®
A polymer emulsion blend. It is a milky-white liquid that requires dilution with water to aid in penetration into the surface and it obtain optimum moisture for maximum compaction. Soil-Sement® “cures” upon the evaporation of the water and dries clear. It is considered non-hazardous per OSHA and EPA definitions. It is particularly effective for environmentally sensitive areas or areas where natural aesthetics are required.

We also understand that managing a program in-house is extremely difficult with the internal demands and pressures on developers and contractors. And outsourcing is not necessarily easy. We have the programs that provide either Turnkey Application Service of fugitive dust control products or a guaranteed Dust Control Service Program of monitoring and maintaining the prescribed level of dust control.
