Midwest understands the need for both short and long term dust suppression when loading, transporting, and handling bulk materials. PM10 and TSP particles must be suppressed at the source and maintained for downstream effectiveness as bulk materials such as coal, coke, ballast, stone, sand, sinter, etc. are loaded, unloaded, stockpiled and reclaimed.
A single application point will eliminate the need for further dust suppression in the handling process while minimizing spray equipment needs and reducing water use. Our residual dust suppression binds the fine particles and holds them together even after the material has dried.
We manufacture a product that is designed specifically as residual dust control on bulk materials for capping gondola cars in transit. It’s developed to be environmentally safe and provide superior dust control performance. Over the past 33 years, it has also been extensively used in the field, with continual research and development in our state of the art laboratory. Soil-Sement® has been evaluated and approved by the US EPA, California Air Resource Board and Canada ETV.

Soil-Sement®
A polymer emulsion blend. Soil-Sement® bonds dust and fines together and is non-hazardous per OSHA and EPA definitions. It is a white liquid that dries clear and requires dilution with water to aid in penetration. Soil-Sement® is applied to ballast, coal, sand, coke, sinter in railcars as well as roadways, parking areas and TOFC/COFC facilities.
