WHAT IS ICE FREE CONVEYOR®?
Ice Free Conveyor® is Midwest’s original product developed for coal handlers to eliminate conveyor problems caused by snow, moisture, freezing and sub-zero temperatures. Ice Free Conveyor® recognizes and deals with the specific nature and unique problems of your conveyor system. Each year we have improved Ice Free Conveyor® using the valuable feedback we have received from our customers. All this combines to make Ice Free Conveyor® Winter Operating Agent the best product available on the market today to keep you running smoothly during severe winter weather!
ICE FREE CONVEYOR® OUTPERFORMS OTHER MATERIALS BECAUSE OF FIVE MAJOR BENEFITS:
1
EFFECTIVE TEMPERATURE RANGE —
Ice Free Conveyor® prevents belt icing, removes ice glaze and prevents and removes build-up on idlers and pulleys to -70°F. Other materials stop or begin to lose effectiveness between 0° and -10°F.
2
PRODUCES COVER FRICTION —
Ice Free Conveyor® is the only product formulated with ingredients that, when sprayed lightly, will produce belt cover friction — so belts will carry coal even when extremely hard. Only Ice Free Conveyor® helps to stop backslides that are the result of belt hardening that starts at 20°F and gets worse as the temperature falls. The more difficult the conditions, the more valuable Ice Free Conveyor® is to you!
3
LONGEST LASTING —
Ice Free Conveyor® is formulated to outlast all other materials because of its powerful active ingredients. They combat everything that conveyor systems are subjected to by nature and the coal handling process.
4
MINIMIZES CARRY-BACK—
Ice Free Conveyor® is the only product formulated to prevent or minimize fines carry-back and build-up on belts, idlers and pulleys...major causes of winter systems problems.
5
USES LESS MATERIAL —
Ice Free Conveyor®, used as an anti-icer, outperforms other types of anti-icers within their temperature range using less material. Spray Ice Free Conveyor® at a rate of one gallon per minute for one complete revolution. Ice Free Conveyor® results in less oversprays and less puddles.

TECHNICAL DATA SHEET
DESCRIPTION
Ice Free Conveyor® is a multi-component glycol based liquid belt anti-icing and deicing agent. Ice Free Conveyor® was developed for the extremes in conveyor belt operations: cold temperatures, high coal moisture content, old or worn belts, steep inclines. It eliminates coal and material handling problems caused by ice glazing and fines build-up on conveyor belts.
APPLICATIONS
Ice Free Conveyor® can be sprayed on top of the conveyor belt to prevent ice glaze and snow build-up. Application of Ice Free Conveyor® to tail pulleys, the bottom cover, or trough idlers can prevent ice build-up caused by precipitation or moisture from the coal. Ice Free Conveyor® should be applied prior to shut-down to prevent ice formation. Application at start-up or during operation can speed removal of ice and prevent further accumulation.
