Freeze Conditioning Agents and Side Release Agents Relieve Ice Woes, Save Money
Midwest can’t control the weather, but our side release agents and freeze conditioning agents can keep the weather from controlling you. That’s a good thing given that weather is the single largest contributing factor to operational problems for utilities. While ice can be removed from railcar interiors, truck beds, and chutes after it has formed, anti-icing increases safety, improves operational efficiency. Because deicing requires five to ten times more product, anti-icing is also a money-saving option.
Midwest’s tested and proven nonflammable winter operating agents:

Double protection – freeze conditioning and side-release anti-icing
Midwest’s Freeze Free® freeze-conditioning agent is sprayed directly onto coal or other materials. It prevents ice from bonding with the materials being stored, moved or transported and turning them into a solid block of material that will not readily flow through chutes or be easily unloaded from railcars.
Zero Gravity B-Free®, our side-release agent is sprayed directly on the metal sides and bases of truck beds, railcars and chutes to prevent coal and other materials from freezing to railcar interiors, truck beds, chutes, bins, hoppers, and feeders. It incorporates technology licensed from the NASA/AMES Research Institute that enables it to defy gravity and keep Zero Gravity B-Free on the vertical surface of the railcar or truck bed.
