Road Stabilization and Dust Control System
TECHNICAL DATA & PRODUCT INFORMATION
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
ROAD•BLDR® Road Stabilization and Dust Control System is a process of stabilizing base soils, using native soils, to provide a higher load bearing capacity so that they can withstand heavy traffic stresses and weathering. The native base soils are mixed thoroughly with Midwest component X so that after proper compaction and curing, the native soil is more dense and provides the desired stronger base while resisting deterioration due to weathering and rain. This stabilized native soil base is then sealed with Midwest component Y to assure the integrity and longevity as well as preventing dust.
ROAD•BLDR® BENEFITS
- Increases bearing capacity and soil workability
- Saves money by utilizing local soils
- Provides long term stabilization
- Reduces reabsorption of water
- Controls dust and reduces gravel loss
- Increases traffic ability in wet conditions
- Environmentally safe and willnot trigger ant environmental reporting requirements
PERFORMANCE
ROAD•BLDR® is primarily used in stabilization and maintenance of unpaved roads, construction roads, parking areas, air strips, mass fields and rehabilitation of failed roads. ROAD•BLDR® will treat a wide spectrum of materials ranging from clays to clayey silty sands and clayey gravel.
APPLICATION
ROAD•BLDR® is installed in two phases: Native Soil Road Base Stabilization and Surface Sealing.
Road Base Stabilization Phase:
ROAD•BLDR® is poured directly into a water tanker and sprayed evenly onto the soil. ROAD•BLDR® is mixed into soil and bladed into final shape and compacted. A normal roller compactor can be used for the initial compaction. Vehicle traffic will further compact the treated section.
Surface Sealing Phase:
After compaction, the surface is sprayed with clean water at daily intervals as required. The cured ROAD•BLDR® surface sealant is applied, which is clean, binding and will not re-emulsify.
