MILITARY TESTING SHOWS ENVIROKLEEN®
GREATLY REDUCES THE GENERATION OF FUGITIVE DUST
In a report prepared for the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs (ADEMA) by the URS Corporation (formerly Dames and Moore), EnviroKleen® was applied and evaluations completed at 6-month, 12-month and post implementation intervals. These evaluations were conducted within the Florence Military Reservation in Florence, Arizona on the Mesa Staging Area and the Main Supply Route.
The evaluation results were used to assess the effectiveness of EnviroKleen® in accordance with the Pinal County Air Pollution Control Regulations and the ADEMA Scope of Work, which limits the opacity of air pollutant emissions to 20% at the property line. These regulations also state that the opacity from any site within the property should not exceed 25%.
In all three evaluations it was concluded that:
- The opacity of the dust plumes generated by convoys on the roads treated with EnviroKleen® were all lower than the 20% required at the property line.
- The EnviroKleen® dust palliative appeared to greatly reduce the generation of fugitive dust emissions at Gate #5, (please note the differences in Photo 1 and Photo 2 below)
- A combined application of coarse rock material and EnviroKleen® dust palliative at the Mesa Staging Area PROVIDED EXCELLENT CONTROL OF FUGITIVE DUST!
